What This Channel Is About

Look, I'm not a tech influencer. I'm a 41-year-old remote worker who's been building, breaking, and fixing tech for years. I downgraded from a MacBook Pro M4 Max to a MacBook Air because portability matters more than power when you're moving around. I use a DJI Mini 5 Pro because it fits in my backpack. And I'm building micro-SaaS products in my spare time because I want to own my time instead of renting it out.

This channel is for people who want real reviews, real setups, and real insights—not perfectly staged desk tours with $10,000 worth of gear they don't actually use.

Macs & Tech

Reviews, comparisons, and real-world use cases. From MacBook Airs to home servers running Windows IoT.

AI Tools

Claude, ChatGPT, local LLMs, automation workflows—what actually works and what's just hype.

Cameras & Drones

Action cameras, drones for travel, and gear that actually fits in a backpack. No 50-pound rigs here.

Micro-SaaS

Building simple apps that solve real problems. API integrations, automation, and actual products people will pay for.

WHAT I'M CREATING

Real Content, Not Influencer Theater

I'm building this channel while working full-time. That means you're getting real content from someone who's actually in the trenches, not someone who quit their job to "pursue their passion" after their trust fund kicked in.

Home Server Series

Building out a home server on a Lincstation N1 running Windows IoT. The goal? Self-hosted services, local AI models, and not giving all my data to Big Tech.

Status: In Progress

Mac Workflows

How I use my MacBook Air for consulting work, video editing, and side projects. Shortcuts, automation, and apps that actually save time.

Status: Upcoming

AI Deep Dives

Real use cases for AI tools. Not "10 ChatGPT prompts for productivity" garbage. Actual workflows that save hours of work.

Status: In Progress

Gear Reviews

Cameras, action cams, drones, and other tech. What's worth buying, what's overhyped, and what actually works for someone who travels light.

Status: Ongoing

The Philosophy

I don't care about perfect lighting or perfectly scripted videos. I care about shipping content that's actually useful. The 20-year-olds winning on YouTube aren't better than me—they just started. So that's what I'm doing. Starting. Building. Documenting.

If you want polished influencer content, go watch MKBHD. If you want real reviews from someone who's figuring it out alongside you, stick around.

Why I Downgraded

I sold my MacBook Pro M4 Max and switched to a MacBook Air. Why? Because I'm moving around a lot, and portability matters more than raw power. Sure, exports take longer. But I'm not exporting 8K RED footage—I'm editing 1080p vlogs. The Air handles it just fine.

Same logic with the drone. The DJI Mavic was too big to travel with, so I switched to the Mini 5 Pro. Less features, but it fits in my backpack. That's a trade I'm happy to make.

WHAT I'M BUILDING

Micro-SaaS, Apps, and Experiments

I'm building products that solve real problems I've seen in my 10 years working with contact center reporting. These aren't "get rich quick" schemes—they're tools I wish existed when I was drowning in spreadsheets.

Home Server Build Series

Building a self-hosted ecosystem on the Lincstation N1 running Windows IoT. Local AI models, media server, automated backups, and full control of my data. No Big Tech required.

Status: Active

AI Workflow Automation

Using Claude, ChatGPT, and local LLMs to automate content creation, research, and daily workflows. Real productivity gains, not LinkedIn hustle porn.

Status: Testing

Content Production Pipeline

Building a complete YouTube/blog workflow using Notion, Obsidian, and AI tools. From idea capture to publishing—streamlined and repeatable.

Status: In Development

Portable Tech Stack

Optimizing my setup for location independence. MacBook Air, cloud workflows, eSIMs, and travel-friendly gear that doesn't sacrifice functionality.

Status: Ongoing

The Plan

I'm building these products while I still have a full-time job. The goal? Replace my consulting income with recurring revenue from products that work whether I'm sleeping or working. That's how you own your time instead of renting it out.

I'll be documenting the entire process on this channel—wins, failures, pivots, and everything in between. No fake guru promises. Just real building in real time.

ABOUT VICTOR

The Human Behind the Channel

I'm a 41-year-old remote consultant living abroad. I've been working in reporting and analytics for contact centers for 10 years. Before that, I was in the US Army maintaining UH-60 Black Hawks in Germany. Before that, I was a field service tech for Liebherr cranes. And before that, I was running CNC machines.

I'm married, we have a dog named Buddy, and I have a son that lives in Germany.

Why I'm Doing This

I've been planning to start a YouTube channel for years. Years. I bought cameras. I wrote scripts. I designed logos. I did everything except the one thing that actually matters: hitting record and posting.

Then I realized something. The 20-year-olds winning on YouTube aren't smarter than me. They're not better at tech. They didn't have better equipment. They just started. So that's what I'm doing. Starting.

This channel is my way of learning to express myself, building in public, and creating products that give me control over my time. Remote work is great, but there's still a rope around my ankle. I want to cut that rope.

My Other Brands

ZediaTech is my tech brand. Everything that's not travel or drones lives here. But I have two other brands you might care about:

  • Bricks & Borders Slow travel / Digital nomad content
  • DroneView Insights Aerial photography / 3D photogrammetry
